Arrow of Light!
Mike worked very hard this year to earn his Arrow of Light award. With the help of his great leader Jolene (shown here in this picture) not only did he earn the Arrow of Light, Cub Scouts highest award, but he completed all 20 Weblos activity bages. I am so proud of him and Jeffery his friend in the picture who also earned his Arrow of Light and earned all 20.... way to go boys.
My parents came down for the ceremony in September. It was so nice that they could make it to see Mike. This photo was taken with Andrew after the ceremony and I thought it was a great picture....

A little get-a-way!!!
My brother-in-law and his wife and family are moving to Slidell, LA. It is near New Orleans. I wanted to help them along in this journey. So on July 24th we got into the car, Vincent drove his truck and Joey drove the rented moving truck. It took us 3 days driving.... and we had fun and named it the.......
4 chicks and a baby, stuck in the middle, on hairspary highway, peeing in the dark.... 3 chicks and 2 dudies, each with a rotunda in the trunk, knockout Lacey, good shot and we all talk WHALE!!!!!
Sunday night around 7:00pm LA time we rolled into Slidell. David's Aunt Tina and Uncle Kenny met us here with Aimee her husband Josh. They brought us dinner..... Jambalaya!!! It was very good. We unloaded the truck, and Vincent bought a steamer. So we cleaned couches until about 2:30 am.
Monday we slept in until about 11:30. It felt good!! We did a little more unpacking, and trying to help Lacey get the house to feel like a house. It has rained so much. The lightning and thunder storms are great!!
Tuesday we got up and after getting the kids fed, Aunt Tina and Jennifer and Katie came over. Joey cooked a pork shoulder. For the most of the day we visited and got caught up on life. Then we found out that Melda's Aunt lives three houses down from where Joey and Lacey live now. So we went to visit her. This was my first time meeting Aunt Jan. She was very nice, and her home was lovely. The power went out when another storm came through. Uncle Kenny came later with Kevin (Katie's boyfriend). This is when we got to work. And ended with the pulled pork. It was very good.
Tomorrow I am heading into the city with Vincent. We are going to spend the day together before I go home on Thursday. I will have some pics to add later, and the rest of my trip.

Work it
Ok... I am a member of the new Gold's Gym here and I love it. I drop the kids off to school in the morning and I am off. They say that this is a small gym, but it has everything. Pool, spin room (haven't tried that yet), raquet ball, and more that I can't spell at the moment. So.. I have set some new new year's goals. Wish me luck!!

HERE YE, HERE YE!!!
Today was the long awaited castle day at Michell's school. All of the 6th grade students have to build a castle with certain things built into it. Michelle picked her friend Emily to be her partner. They had fun building it together and some days goofing off. But they finished in time and brought it to school. All the other grades get to come and visist and see the castles and they are encouraged to ask questions. I only took pictures of other castles in Michelle's classroom, but as you can tell there were certainly some neat castles. All the kids did a great job. Their teacher was proud. And Michelle said that her and Emily's castle won 2nd place and is to be showcased in the school library. We are so proud. Michelle was only worried about getting an "A". Great job Michelle and Emily.
The numbers are in....
Just a little update on Michael and his Utah History project. His goal was to get 550 and he topped that. His final score was 618 points. He earned his pizza. I have loved that about Mike... he is determined. Once he gets something in his head that he wants to accomplish... he doesn't stop or give up until he reaches that goal. Good job Michael!!!

THINK PINK!!!
This is what we have all been waiting for.... Michelle is finally in her new room. It took a little longer than we first planned, but she is in and loving it. She wanted black and pink with polkadots. It was fun. Thanks to David for framing and floating and taping and painting the room and to Vincent (David's Dad) for the great polkadots and his help.

Take Heart little lady... I'll fix your wagon!!
Michael has been working so hard in school for his Utah History projects. His teacher, Ms. Williams (The best teacher ever!) has divided Utah History into segments. This segment in on Utah Pioneers, and Mike wanted to make a wagon. He worked very hard on this project. If they earn 550 points during each segment they earn a pizza. And Mike loves pizza. This was fun... Mike picked out the best box and cut it, then he painted it (with a little help from Dad) and he sewed (with a short little sewing lesson from Mom) the cover, I helped him straighten out some old metal hangers and then he filled it with what pioneers might have put into their wagons. So far he has 308 pionts. He chooses from a list of reports to diahramma's to bringing in food and vocabulary. He has until Feb. 12 to have everything finished. I am sure he will reach his goal of 550+.
